Teriyaki Skirt Steak with Kimchi



When is a recipe not a recipe? When I thought to marinate skirt steak with a purchased sauce that I found tucked away in my refrigerator and then serve it with a purchased condiment, I wondered if this counted as a recipe. I decided that this does indeed count as an easy recipe. And so Teriyaki Skirt Steak with Kimchi was born and devoured at our house for dinner. The tender and perfectly seasoned grilled steak was the perfect foil to the powerhouse Kimchi. Kimchi, a mixture of fermented vegetables, always brightens up beef and adds a little excitement to any day. So go ahead and try this easy recipe for dinner.


Ingredients for Teriyaki Skirt Steak with Kimchi:


2 1/2 pounds skirt steak

1 cup teriyaki sauce

1 small jar of kimchi

We're ready to cook.


Cut each steak into 2-3 pieces depending on the size of each one. Place the steak in a plastic bag and pour in the teriyaki sauce. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator 1-3 hours.


Thirty minutes before grilling take the steaks out of the refrigerator. Shake off the excess marinade and transfer the meat to a medium-high hot grill. Cook until the beef gets grill marks and then flip over. Cook another 3-5 minutes depending on the thickness of the steaks and the desired doneness.
