Matcha Waffles

Updated: Dec 31, 2022

I love weekend mornings. It's the time to relax and enjoy. I like to start mine off with a steaming cup of coffee followed by a delicious breakfast. These Matcha Waffles are perfect. They are easy to prepare and taste great. Filled with Greek yogurt, some of my Healthy Green Food coloring made from spinach, and of course, a few spoonfuls of Matcha, I'm good to go.

Ingredients for Matcha Waffles:

2 cups flour

4 tablespoons melted butter

2 eggs

1 1/4 cups whole milk

1 - 7 ounce container Greek yogurt

2 tablespoons Matcha

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt or table salt

Time-Saving Tips: Combine the dry ingredients before bedtime so it's ready to go in the morning. The Healthy Green Food Coloring can be replaced with a little green food dye.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Combine the dry ingredients.

Whisk the yogurt, milk, butter, eggs, Healthy Food Coloring, until mixed.

Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Whisking until well combined.

Heat the waffle iron and lightly coat with cooking spray. Add the batter and cook until desired crispness and color.

They're ready! Match Waffles are the perfect way to start any morning. I love to serve them with fruit and a little maple syrup on the side.

Enjoy!
