Hey there, fellow treat enthusiasts! If you're anything like me, you always look for ways to jazz up classic childhood favorites. Hold onto your sweet tooth because I've got a game-changer for you: Double Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats!

Let's start with the basics – Rice Krispies treats are already crowd-pleasers, right? That satisfying snap, crackle, and pop combined with the gooey marshmallow goodness is enough to transport anyone back to their carefree days of recess and playdates. But wait, there's more! Imagine taking that nostalgic delight and infusing it with not one but two layers of chocolatey goodness. Yes, please!

The beauty of these treats lies not only in their irresistible taste but also in their simplicity. Seriously, folks, we're talking about a dessert that comes together in mere minutes, and guess what? No baking is required! It's the ultimate win-win situation.

Now, let's talk versatility. These Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats aren't just reserved for special occasions. They're perfect for game day gatherings, serving as the ultimate halftime snack to keep you fueled and ready to cheer on your favorite team. Plus, they're a lifesaver for those hectic afternoons when hunger strikes, but dinner is still hours away. And let's not forget picnics – picture this: a sunny day, a checkered blanket spread out on the grass, and a basket filled to the brim with these delectable treats. Pure bliss, am I right?

But enough chit-chat – let's get down to business.

Ingredient for Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats:

4 tablespoons butter

1 - 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows

5 1/4 cups Rice Krispies

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2/3 cup mini bittersweet chocolate morsels, divided

Time-Saving Tip: This yummy treat can be prepared a day in advance and sealed in a Ziploc bag.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook!

Create a sleeve for a brownie-sized baking pan by folding aluminum foil. Spray the pan with cooking spray, place the foil inside, and give it another light spray. Ensure that the foil hangs over the sides of the pan – this overhang will allow you to easily lift the treats out of the pan once they're done.

Melt the butter, add the marshmallows and unsweetened cocoa powder, stir until creamy and smooth.

Quickly and gently fold in the Rice Krispies. Once combined, stir in half of the chocolate chips.

Gooey marshmallows wait for no one...they will quickly become stiff, so quickly transfer the mixture from the pan to the prepared pan. Press down with a spatula and sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips. I like to use a piece of parchment paper to lightly press the chips into the treats.

Try to wait for about 15 minutes and then cut up the Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats. I always start cutting from the middle and work my way out.

They're ready! These Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats are oh-so-delicious and sure to put a smile on any chocolate lover's face. I'm already counting down the moments until I can whip up another batch of these dreamy treats!

Enjoy!
