Cavatelli and Spinach

Updated: Feb 10, 2020

When my sons were little, one night, I was at a loss for a side to go with our chicken dinner and whipped up Cavatelli and Spinach. They loved it, and this dish quickly became a favorite for them. I mix this eggless pasta with simple ingredients such as spinach, parmesan cheese, and a few pats of butter. It comes together in minutes and is incredibly delicious. Each bite tastes creamy, flavorful, and decadent. I always make this when I have both boys at home.

Ingredients for Cavatelli and Spinach:

1-13 ounce bag of frozen cavatelli

1-10 ounce box of frozen chopped spinach, thawed

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

4-5 tablespoons unsalted butter

kosher salt

black pepper

Time-Saving Tip: Get your plates ready because it's best when just prepared.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Ideally, transfer the frozen spinach from the freezer to the kitchen counter or the refrigerator a few hours before preparing this dish.

Cook the cavatelli according to the package directions. Add the spinach to the cooking water during the last 2 minutes of cooking.

Drain the pasta and spinach and return them to the pot. Add the butter and fold in until melted. Combine in the cheese and then season with salt and pepper.

It's ready! Cavatelli and Spinach is delicious. I love how easy it is to prepare and how it puts a smile on both my sons smile whenever I make it for dinner.

Enjoy!

Hi Valerie, I finally figured out how to use the comment box! This recipe was so easy for a busy day perfect. The only thing I did as I didn't have chopped frozen spinach, I used fresh and I didn't even cook spinach with garlic which I would normally do Just a little oil. now I sent my son Justin the picture I took of the dish I made he asked me what was in it he will probably make it....
