There is a reason why avocado toast is popping up all over the place. It's delicious, good for you and easy to prepare. This Avocado-Salmon Toast is especially yummy. Good bread topped with rich and buttery avocado and smoked salmon is a winning combination. These toasts can then be garnished with just about anything. Give them a try and I know you love them.
Ingredients for Avocado-Salmon Toasts:
4-5 slices of good multigrain bread, toasted
1 avocado, peeled and seed removed
Kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper
4-5 slices smoked salmon
any or all of the following: capers, thinly sliced radishes, thinly sliced cucumbers, thinly sliced red onion, sliced roasted peppers, sliced grape tomatoes
Time-Saving Tip: All of the garnishes can be sliced ahead of time.
This recipe is pretty much a guide. You can make as many slices as you want just increase the avocado as needed.
Let's see what we need.
Now let's prepare the toasts.
Cut about 4-5 slices of bread from a good multigrain loaf of bread. One avocado was enough for five slices of this bread. Lightly toast.
While the bread is toasting prepare the avocado. Just sprinkle some salt on the avocado and mash it with a fork. I like it chunky.
Now it's time to build all of the toasts. First spread the avocado on the toast and then place a slice of salmon on top of each toast. Then add the garnishes and a little bit of freshly ground pepper.
It's ready! Doesn't this look great? These toasts are perfect for breakfast or lunch or even for a snack. I've even served these for dinner with a nice salad. Have fun with the garnishes and let me know if you have any great combinations.
Enjoy!
