Everything tastes better with a rich chocolate glaze drizzled on it. Well, maybe not everything but a lot of things. And this one is delicious. I have been making this recipe since before I met my husband. I came across this recipe one day and the rest, as they say, is history. I modified it a bit and it is so chocolatey and delicious. You will want to eat it right out of the bowl. Use it for cakes, cupcake, muffins and of course the Double Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats. Click HERE for the recipe for the Treats.
Ingredients for Chocolate Glaze:
1/4 cup cocoa
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup confectioners sugar
You will also need a hand beater. I love my KithenAid Architect Hand Beater. Click Here if you would like to learn more about it.
Time Saving Tip: It really is best to make this glaze right before using it since it does set. I promise it is a quick and easy recipe.
Let's see what we need.
Let's get cooking.
Combine the cocoa, water, corn syrup and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave a couple of minutes so the mixture thickens a bit. Do not overcook or else the mixture will harden. Keep a watchful eye on it as it cooks. When it is done cooking stir it up and add the confectioners' sugar and the vanilla. Beat until smooth and thickened. Now taste it. I promise you will swoon.
Now you can drizzle to your heart's content.
Enjoy!
